well, the sun is shining ( at last) - we've had rain, snow, hail here for several days. I've been playing with the oil pastles still - really getting the feel of them for portraits. I use Sennelier and Holbein as i like the soft consistency of the sennelier and the Holbeins are just a bit firmer for the fine detail. I'm still strugling with how to get very fine lines and details but a forum member has advised trying a brush and some turps so I'll have a go at that.

We are off to Southwold in a couple of weeks so I think I'll take the watersoluble pencils with me - it has a fabulous chuch which I'd like to record and also the lighthouse and pier. Some people don't like to be watched - it doesn't both me (too much) esp if the work is going well... and I ;ove to chat to people so if you see a lady in a wheelchair painting furiously ( I paint quickly) then do say hello!
