last night I did a demo ( my first apart from last summer when i did one for church festival. I wished i hadn't said yes - they asked last autumn and it seemed a long way off - and i have a problem saying No, when its no hardship really to help and only for an hour. I took the waxes and iron - everyone likes seeing them. Anyway - they were pleased and asked what my fee was....

so we settled on a £20 donation for the RarerCancerForum so I'm just about to pass on the good news

I came back and had a glass of wine to celebrate the demo over! had 2 in fact and had a headache this am - been trying to lose weight so the lack of alchohol must be turning me into a lightweight...( alchohol wise - sadly the real weight is staying a bit longer

) www.jeanniezelos.comI'm off for breakfast with an old workmate in a momnet and then today I want to have a go at an oil pastel head of my old horse Sylvester who sadly died of Cushings disease two years ago. I still have his companion Muska - a lovely Icelandic mare and i'm going to paint her again too .I'm waitng for her summer coat to grow in though - when i look at all the photos of her i have she's either looking the wrong way or looks very dark, she's a dark choclate brown and its difficult to see definition on her face unless its very good light. I know what i need to paint her , just got to take the photo to do it.

I've got 4 large canvasses in studio waiting for painting - 30 x 60 inches!!, but I'm just not sure what to paint - got so many ideas its difficult to fix on one... and its been too cold in there over winter to spend too long. I've had an idea for past couple of years that I'd like to do a Maddona and Child type work. I've done a couple of layout sketches and maybe one of these would be good - get a proper almost lifesize work going . we shall see. when i'm painting although i have lots of ideas I can only do the one that seems right at that time - if i try to force somethig i find it looks dulll and doesn't have that special "spark" You'd think that would be so with commissions, but I still get very excited about them - about the fact that people like to PAY for what I create - so it doesn't seem to be a problem. I think the day i stop getting excited will be the day I stop painting and hopefully that won't ever happen.
