This is the New Queen of Hearts (the original one sold so the set would be incomplete unless he remarried) from a series I did of playing cards. I used the same colors as in a typical deck, pretty much limiting it to reds, yellows, black, and whatever greens can be mixed with yellow and black. I kept the skin white like what is in the cards, and worked some linear designs in such as the hair and the backgrounds (which incorporate patterns used in a specific deck of cards). I wanted to give personality to the cards and yet keep them cold-looking.
